Following the service there'll be a Parade to the Cemetery with the Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department bearing Ned's ashes, bagpipers, and a graveside service to inter his ashes.

Trinidad Art's Long-Time Friends' Show 2011
Long-Time Friends' Show
This June Show features new works with the spirit of the greater Trinidad Area. I'm striving for a show full of vitality that is given plenty of publicity.
For a kickoff, I am giving an Long Time Friends Party with a big pot of hapy-clam-chowder, May 31 at 5pm. At the same time, there will be a short business meeting, and a group photograph. You may drop off your paintings too.
The show hanging will be Thursday morning. You may drop off your entries any time before, just phone ahead 677-0716.
Offering the painting for sale is encouraged but not required; 40% commission. Not for sale pieces are to be indicated by "NFS" in the Retail$:_____ space.
The entry fee for each piece is $5.00. Most shows consist of sixty art pieces. I expect two medium sized entries from each artist.

Representational Art League - 23rd Annual Spring Show
Representational Art League presents its annual spring show
TRINIDAD — The Representational Art League of Humboldt County will be holding its 23rd annual spring show at Trinidad Art Gallery through May 23.
Paintings exhibited will cover a wide range of subject matter, including botanicals, wildlife, landscapes, still-life and figurative, yet all are representational.
Styles of the artists in the league vary from impressionism to realism, from whimsical to narrative. Paintings are in oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel.
The league's members are Julia Bednar, Pat Cahill, Marj Early, Beverly Harper, Frances Kuta, Elsie Mendes, Michelle Murphy-Ferguson, Dolores Polm, Camille Regli, Yevonne Reynolds, Sara Starr, Susan Strope and Dolores Terry.
An opening reception will be held for the artists at Trinidad Art Gallery from 1 to 4 p.m. May 9. The gallery is located at 490 Trinity St. For more information, call Ned Simmons at 677-0716.
